KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

AUSTRALIA'S MOST PROLIFIC PSYCH BAND

ABOUT

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2010. In their 11-year career they have released 19 albums - 5 in 2017 alone - spanning many genres, such as psychedelia, garage rock, jazz, math rock, boogie, thrash metal, electronic, acoustic, and microtonal music. In addition to their 19 studio albums, the band has released 12 live albums, 43 music videos, 11 studio and tour documentaries, and put on an annual music festival called Gizzfest, which showcases other Aussie bands on their record label, Flightless Records. Not to mention - many of the band members have solo projects or are in other bands. The band is lauded for their kind, DIY approach to their music, uploading rig rundowns and song tutorials to their YouTube channel, and even releasing masters of their studio and live albums on their website for fans to alter and sell freely. King Gizzard truly love sharing their process and music at every stage, which is why they are one of my favorite bands. Well...enough yappin'! Let's explore the Gizzverse together!

“Uh yeah I guess ther- I guess there are just things sometimes uh you just kinda think of something and then it uh becomes a song before you know it. It's just you know you just get it in there and you're thinking about something and then you you know you are kinda thinking about a song and then there's this music.”
